My 2-year-old really wants to be a “big-girl” and sit at the table with us to eat our meals. But she just isn’t big enough yet. We have tried a couple boosters but they just slide around and make her feel really uneasy. You can also tell that they weren’t really built for comfort. She may be young but there is no reason she should have to sit on a super hard plastic seat.
We eat at a breakfast nook type table. It’s the perfect size for the family and our limited space. Unfortunately that means that most conventional seats don’t fit on the benches. Since my baby is getting older and wants to sit in the high chair, I really needed to find something my 2-year-old could use. When I received my Baby Smart Cooshee Hybak I was really surprised by how heavy it is! It was clear right away that this seat would not be sliding all over. The seat is all one piece, silky smooth exterior with no seams, nooks or crannies, perfect for a messy toddler.
The high back design and contoured seat edge positions legs for proper posture. She is able to sit up straight with her little legs resting on the bench. I’m a short lady, so I know how uncomfortable it can be to have your legs dangling below you. She is able to get on and off the booster without flipping it over. I’m never scared to let her be a big girl.
I love the colors. I choose the lime green because I thought we could use it for all the children and pass it down when we are finished. It also has built-in handles perfect for moving the seat from place to place. The Cooshee Hybak is made in the USA , has a 5 year warranty, complies with ASTM safety standards and is 100% waterproof.
Even though the Cooshee doesn’t need straps to stay in place I think it would have been nice to have straps to keep my toddler in her seat. She is so used to being strapped into the high chair that she pretty much thinks its fair game to get up and move around however she pleases. I think she might need something to keep her seated or at least make her think she is strapped in. I think the Cooshee is heavy enough that with straps she would stay seated and safe.
